The Call to Courage - A Study

Image
"We can’t go it alone. We’re neuro-biologically hardwired for other people. In the absence of connection, love and belonging, there is always suffering," ~ Brene' Brown  The Call to Courage, an interactive video study   Wednesday May 22 @ 7pm Brene’ Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has been studying vulnerability, courage, authenticity, and shame for the past 10 years.  “Vulnerability is hard and it’s scary and it feels dangerous. But it’s not as hard, or scary or dangerous as getting to the end of our lives and having to ask ourselves: What if I would’ve shown up?” – Brené Brown #Pkes   #MetroLifeChurch   #MinistryinMotion DIRECTIONS

Wednesday May 15th

Wednesday May 15th @ 7pm Kernels of Wheat and Vino from the Vine, the mystery of the Eucharist. God through Jesus Christ makes himself present to humanity by ordinary elements:   grain and grapes.   Grain and grapes that come from God’s good earth. Interestingly, the Lord’s Supper, Communion, the Eucharist, the Last Supper or was it the first, is not just a combination of unprocessed grain and freshly picked grapes . Here lies the divine mystery: grain and grapes are made bread and wine, because of human efforts. See how clearly we communicate the sacred sacrament, the body of Christ broken and blood shed for each of us.   We do this remembering Emmanuel, God with us .   O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.”  ~Book of Common Prayer #Metro
