Silent Saturday

Holy Saturday reminds us that the space between death and resurrection is often dark, lonely, and disorienting. Life can feel like one long Holy Saturday. But we are invited to cling to God nonetheless because something new is about to burst forth. @richvillodas

Peter followed Jesus (though at some distance so as not to be seen). He slipped into Caiaphas’s house and attached himself to a group of servants. And he sat watching, waiting to see how things would unfold. Matthew 26:58

Christ’s friends were lost, their futures seemingly erased. Many of us may feel this today, disorientation. We feel lost, isolated and uncertain of our future. This stay-at-home season is like one long Holy Saturday...Know the history, the story, the beauty of the resurrection. Be silent. Pause and breath deep — Sunday is coming. May the Lord use it to birth something fresh in all of us.
