Grappling With Grief

Image
Adopted from a Ministry in Motion July 17th, 2016 post. Do All Dogs Go To Heaven? “…If unconditional love, loyalty, and obedience are the tickets to heaven and an eternal life with my creator then my Corgi, Zoe, will surely be there long before me…” She is there now. She is where I am not, and I’m left to mourn, remember, and be comforted by those who cared for me. There are many. They’ve not been shy about connecting, loving and being supportive. Thank you.   Still, I grapple with my grief. I’m left to breathe in a place I’ve never been before. I look at my wounds of hurt and know I must live through them — it’s better to feel them than to understand them; better to enter into them than talk about them. Speaking aloud is still too breathtaking. Losing a pet is no doubt one of the most difficult things any animal lover can go through. For many, our pets are like members of the family, and the grief and sadness we feel when they pass away can be overwhelming. Today, my grief has not br

The Gospel vs: The American Dream

Image
Christianity is a faith and practice formed around Jesus the Christ; The process of being conformed to His image for God’s glory and for the sake of others. It’s the Holy Spirit who guides us on the on-going journey. But… If Christianity means hijacking Jesus to serve personal self-interests, it’s time to rethink our theology... So... Be cautious. don’t confuse the gospel of the kingdom of God, proclaimed by Jesus, with the American dream. Make certain that the ‘good news’ you share is for all ppl — that it’s applicable in all nations ...  #pkes   #MininstryinMotion     Facebook   Twitter   Instagram   Home   Office[at]minm.church

Revival Without Reformation

The Epistle of Jude may be one of the most neglected New Testament books. Bible readers are tempted, in part by its brevity and that’s wedged in between 3 John and Revelation, to skip over the pithy, twenty-five verse epistle, and move onto the seemingly more stimulating and intriguing Book of Revelation. Jude often gets little more than a glance. This is unfortunate, because it speaks volumes. Wednesday July 15th @ 7pm... Deconstructed Faith

Image
How has the deconstruction [1] of your faith influenced the way you think and act? Are you eager to reply: ‘I’ve not deconstructed my faith - it’s the assurance that the things revealed and promised in the Scriptures are true, and will come to pass ... In other words, my faith [2] is solid, tangible I know what I know — 'I have no need to do anything with by faith except believe'     When I was a child, my speech, feelings, and thinking were all those of a child; now that I am an adult, I have no more use for childish ways . [3] The contrast in Paul’s Epistle is very striking. Our faith walk is not static — it evolves, morphs, matures and is reconstructed daily by the Holy Spirit.   What does a Holy Ghost deconstruction faith look like? Maybe it’s realizing that my beliefs don't mean much without action. Or, reconstruction is moving from a self-centered faith to one that creates urgency and empathy for others. Possibly your evolving faith is feeling encouraged to “bring

Spiritual Formation

Theological study and spiritual formation is gradual, even painful at times.   Maybe you discover the mysteries of our faith. Possibly you unearth that God is not totally comprehensible. Good.   You can be become competent in many things,  but you cannot be competent in God. #MininstryinMotion   #pkes   Facebook   Twitter   Instagram   Home   Office[at]minm.church
