  Authentic Christianity is less about embracing a set of beliefs and more about learning a way of life, a way that teaches us how to give ourselves away. It is the lifelong practice of offering our love, our lives, and ultimately even our death into God’s hands, echoing the words of Jesus: “Into your hands I commend my spirit” (Psalm 31:5; Luke 23:46) Paradoxically, it is in this self-giving that we discover our deepest connections: with the world around us, with all of creation, with one another, and, most profoundly, with God. In losing ourselves through love, we find the fullness of the life for which we were created. #pkes     #MinM

In Jesus, we see that kindness is love in action—a strength that listens, forgives, serves, and gently leads others toward life.  As His followers, we are invited to reflect that same kindness, becoming a living witness to the grace we ourselves have received... “ Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3 Over my 28 years in ministry, I’ve had more conversations about New Year’s resolutions than I can count. Some hopeful, some hesitant, some a little weary. What I’ve learned is this: resolutions tend to falter when they begin and end with us. This proverb offers a better starting place. It invites us to place our plans, our hopes, intentions, and even our uncertainties into the hands of God, trusting that He is the One who gives them shape and direction. As I look beyond the first couple days of 2026, I find myself leaning into resolutions that are less about self-improvement and more about spiritual formation. My desire is to honor God and serve others with greater attentiveness and humility.
