Deconstructed Faith

How has the deconstruction [1] of your faith influenced the way you think and act?

Are you eager to reply: ‘I’ve not deconstructed my faith - it’s the assurance that the things revealed and promised in the Scriptures are true, and will come to pass ... In other words, my faith [2] is solid, tangible I know what I know — 'I have no need to do anything with by faith except believe'   When I was a child, my speech, feelings, and thinking were all those of a child; now that I am an adult, I have no more use for childish ways. [3] The contrast in Paul’s Epistle is very striking. Our faith walk is not static — it evolves, morphs, matures and is reconstructed daily by the Holy Spirit.

What does a Holy Ghost deconstruction faith look like? Maybe it’s realizing that my beliefs don't mean much without action. Or, reconstruction is moving from a self-centered faith to one that creates urgency and empathy for others. Possibly your evolving faith is feeling encouraged to “bring heaven to earth.” Want to go even deeper? Reconstructing your beliefs, your faith walk, can look different for everyone. But 44% is a huge number.  I think this revamping of our faith is a positive and healthy process that can bring about a more genuine and authentic journey with the Christ. If you’re not growing, changing and evolving, maybe you’re not paying attention to what the Holy Spirit is wanting you to do. Reorganizing your faith and living out of the Gospel’s good news, the love of God, transforms both ourselves and our world. Let that percolate …#MininstryinMotion #pkes

[1] Deconstruction—an academic term for the systematic pulling apart of the belief system you were raised in. It’s what happens when the questions you’ve pushed down your whole life finally bubble over the surface, and you stare honestly at your doubts, fears and uncertainties.

[2] Faith. Does your definition include perfect certitude, perfect clarity and perfect order every step of the way? If so, maybe you’ve basically destroyed the biblical idea of faith to begin with.
