All Things Made New

Image
So this old time Pharisee guy named Nicodemus comes to talk to Jesus one night — they have a little convo   about being born again and stuff like that.   Not surprisingly, Nicodemus is confused. He wonders how someone could be born twice. Twice?   Born Again. What Does That Mean to You? Nicodemus didn't get it. It seems Nic was letting his smarts get in the way of his faith. Jesus agrees—it  is  pretty mysterious. But no worries, Jesus totally knows how God works: He has a plan for how things are made new. Connect with us on Wednesday September 1st @ 7pm. Let's chat. Love in the Sand

Image
  May your love for others not be like writing in the sand,   but an inscription upon the rocks. May your love be rooted and grounded and  n ourished by a source, deeper,   eternal and grander then yourself. May your love be palpable,   consistent and sincere. May we:  “ love our neighbors, and also to love our enemies; probably because they are ... the same people ” ~ G.K.Chesterton       Instagram   Home   Office[at]minm.church   Facebook

What Does Born Again Mean To You?

If you were to drop: “born again” at a dinner meet-up,  would the other guests give you: "awww, bless your heart”  or the proverbial stink eye? What does: Born again mean to you?  Born Again. It’s a term well known in American culture,  a  major theological emphasis in some denominations of Christianity;  Born Again. God Loves Things By Becoming Them

Image
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth . . .  The earth was formless and empty . . . and the Spirit of God was hovering . . . Then God made: The very waters that fall upon the earth, run through our rivers,  our bodies,  and fill our oceans; The plants, the trees, all living and growing networks  that root into this earth; The animals in our skies, in our oceans, on the land,  all creatures great and small; The humans: every race, nationality,   sexuality and gender. . . .  and He looked over all he had made,   and he saw that it was very good! God loves things by becoming them!   Instagram   Home   Office[at]minm.church   Facebook A dapted from Richard Rohr, A Spring Within Us: A Book of Daily Meditations (CAC Publishing: 2016), 313–314;

The Empire & The Kingdom, Deconstructing The Book of Titus

Image
In the Wizard of Oz, the energetic Dorothy lived on the stark Kansas prairie with her small dog, Toto, and her hardworking but forbidding  Uncle Henry and Aunt Em. One day a dangerous cyclone swept across the landscape. Toto and Dorothy didn’t   make it into the storm cellar. The cyclone picked up the house with the two still inside. They were tossed and spun. Dorothy tried to remain calm and eventually fell asleep. When she awoke she and Toto were in a strange new land. They were not in Kansas anymore… The rise of secularism is like a cyclone spinning all around us. Maybe you've awaken to find yourself in a strange new land . . .   Connect with us on Wednesday August 11th @ 7pm for an interactive discussion.  With us, y ou’ll find space to  ask questions, share your thoughts and develop authentic relationships, while meaningfully engaging the life and teachings of Jesus. Deconstructing Titus 2 — Staying Focused

Image
  Are you a list person? I tend to write lists from time to time. They seem to keep me focused. God knows what I would come from the store with, if not for my wife's list. We can learn so much from the lists captured in the biblical texts: warnings, ideas, attributes, commands; they help us to focus and to know God, the ways of his kingdom, now and yet to come. Over the next few weeks we’ll be engaged in an interactive discussion and deconstructing the Book of Titus, while checking out its application for us in 2021.    Please connect with us on Wednesday August 5th @ 7pm.
