Contemplative Vulnerability

What might we be avoiding by staying busy, rather than making space to be alone with God?

"Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed" Mark 1:35

If Jesus intentionally withdrew from the demands of people to pray, what makes us think we can live and serve well without doing the same?

Contemplative vulnerability is the courage to become still, release our defenses, and honestly meet ourselves in God’s presence. In this sacred openness, we allow our fears and wounds to be seen, trusting that we are deeply known, fully accepted, and transformed by God’s love.

Sometimes, the most faithful thing we can do is stop striving, become still, and let God meet us as we are.
