Salvation Anxiety
Anxiety. I know, I know, as faith walkers we are not to be anxious. So we re-word our being anxious and say rather: It’s just a low-grade trepidation; I’m experiencing an edginess; It’s not being anxious, but a dread or the 'willies' - I’m having a feeling.
So we don’t sleep well. We don’t laugh as often. We forget how to enjoy the sun, the stars and the moon. We no longer play …
Anxiety has its reasons, we reason: Airplanes fall out of the sky; Viruses are real; Bull markets go bear; The other shoe will fall. It’s all jut a matter of time, we conclude, so we worry. We are anxious about being anxious.
And should this creep into our journey of faith, we might even say:
