Surrendered
“...God wants us to grow up..." (Ephesians
4:15 MSG)
“...We are not meant to remain
as children...” (Ephesians
4:14a Phillips)
Our creator's goal for us is that we mature and
develop the characteristics of the Anointed One. Sadly, millions of Christians
grow older but never grow up. They’re stuck in perpetual spiritual
infancy, remaining in Gerber Onesies
and diapers. Why, because they have no desire to grow. Spiritual
growth is not automatic. It takes effort and commitment. You must want to grow.
The writer of Hebrews said: "...So come on, let’s leave the preschool
finger-painting exercises on Christ and get on with the grand work of art. Grow
up in Christ...Let’s get on with it..." I think there’s a simple assessment to determine
for yourself if you are wedged in spiritual childhood. This self-examination is not predicated on Sunday
attendance, quantity of giving or even quality of doing. It’s grounded in you
answering this question honestly and sincerely. Ready? Are you surrendered? I
didn’t ask if you believe in Him, I queried, Are you surrrendered to God? Just a Sunday Thought…Pastor Keith
