Quid Pro Quo

We are imperfect people who make mistakes. Well at least I am. Some of those mistakes offend God. Sometimes my miscues offend others, and at times I’m the only one hurt by my screw-ups. Many mistakes and miscues produce hurts and wounds that can very quickly turn into lasting resentment, bitterness or anger, if we don’t deal with them, correctly. As believers we need to find it in our hearts to learn to forgive others and ourselves. CS Lewis wrote: “Everyone thinks forgiveness is a lovely idea until he has something to forgive.” Scripture urges us to receive God's forgiveness, and to be ready to extend it.   “…You can’t get forgiveness from God … without also forgiving others…” You will never forgive anyone more than God has already forgiven you, wrote pastor Max Lucado. Forgiveness is not excusing. It’s not pretending something didn’t happen. Real forgiving is to forget and move on…Blessings, Pastor Keith
