Reaching Out

Image
Who are you connecting with this Lenten season? #Lent Who are you engaging because of the good news and hope within you? We each have the power to give of ourselves. It’s one of the most gratifying feelings ever! By reaching out to help another we're sending out ripples of love, which God birthed in us. Every act creating a love-wave with no logical end and in ever expanding circles, potentially impacting our community in biblical proportions. God, heavenly Father, look upon me and hear my prayer during this season of Lent. By the good works you inspire in me, let me “… not forget to do good to others …” Inspire me to share your blessings with others. Thank you for using me. And to you be the glory forever and ever, Amen. Need a burst of inspiration? Click Here , checkout the video clip, and watch the ripples of affection begin. Peace…Pkes

Reflection #Lent

Image
Our 2016 Lenten journey to Easter continues - Reflection. Have you ever wondered why you are able to see your reflection in a mirror or why you see things reflected in the first place? The answers happen to be one of the simplest laws in physics; it is called the   law of reflection , i t says that for specular reflection the angle of reflection equals the angle of incidence. Got it? Think mirrors , t hey exhibit specular reflection. <+> Spiritual reflection is a short saying that packs a huge meaning.   Proverbs 27:19 says: “…As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart…” Another way to look at this is to know that our relationships with others reflect back on ourselves. So, how we think of ourselves is reflected in how we treat others. Pause here. Take a break. This Lenten season and examine yourself – how are your treating others? The answer might just be in the mirror. #Minmchurch #Lent

Spiritual Renewal #Lent

Image
This week the Lenten theme continues. Spiritual Renewal. King David the Psalmist wrote : “ …God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life…put a fresh wind in my sails!” I don’t know about you, but I have a skeleton or two in my closet, my sails have a few tears and I’ve experienced my share of chaos. O God, renovate in me a right spirit! The steps to spiritual renewal are neither secretive nor complicated. When I cry out to God, and ask in sincerity for His restoration, He has always faithful to comply. It’s not in His character to be otherwise, but I have to take the first step. The musicians, The Brilliance , * captured this thought when they sing: “… [God] Open your mouth and speak the word that heals this [my] broken ground…” My prayer for us, this 1 st week of Lent is: Father, give us a renewed and fresh start, Amen. * The Brilliance, Spirit of God @  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsqq5vJ1LU4 #minmchurch #Lent

Fortieth Day

Image
Fortieth Day Many Christians across the globe are entering the season known as Lent this week. It’s those 40-days before Easter where Christians focus on simplified living, prayer, and works of love as Resurrection Sunday approaches. Orthodox Christians are far more observant of Lent; Many Protestant denominations and non-denominational evangelicals attached little if any significance to Lent. Personally, I think there is some value to a Lenten observance. It’s a great time for spiritual renewal as opposed to deprivation; Lent is when you can begin a journey of reflection, allowing God to humble us under His mighty hand so that He may lift us up; Imagine Lent as an invitation for reaching-out, to serve others and to take something on. Renewal, Reflection and Reaching-Out, these actions show God’s Workmanship thriving in us - they help us define our story. May it be well with your soul…Pastor Keith #minmchurch #churchpearland #Lent
