It Is Finished
Nietzsche was correct in saying, “God is dead, and we have killed him...How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all … has bled to death…”
This Good Friday, I’m not recalling the crucifixion as a tidy historical atonement event. But remembering it as a compelling story of human violence, forgiving love and eternal hope.
