Lone Wolf
Are you a “lone wolf”? “…Each one of us is
joined with one another, and we become together what we could not be alone….”
As a minister I would be one of
the first to admit that many churches have been disappointing, with their cliques,
squabbles, and embarrassments. But the answer is not to swing to the opposite
end of the spectrum, by rejecting church altogether, and becoming a “lone wolf”
Christian. Here you do church by yourself, when you want, as you want - no conflicts, no divisions, just sweet spiritual bliss … Dream on! And, there’s a conundrum. What do
you do with the Apostle Paul’s, Saul of Tarsus’ comment above? Moreover, how do
you address Aristotle’s thought that “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”? I’m not
sure you can. I think it’s in our spiritual DNA to be part of something bigger
than ourselves. It’s as if God is pursuing you, drawing you into His grander
plan – that we are
all joined to each other. I’m not sure you can run from, it, deny it, or escape it. He’s
not going to let you go. God’s in pursuit, you can't be a lone wolf…Pastor Keith
